Ah, I meant to include that info. I saw no snakes this time.
I took my dog along, a 72 pound standard poodle, and he came back with no
ticks which is kind of unusual.
I once picked 32 ticks off another dog I took over there.
Maybe the rain affects both ticks and snakes...
My dog did get to be a bit of a nuisance because this time, for the first
time, he decided he should jump into the water and go after the thing that
was trying to run off with my line. He managed to leap on the leader and
break it once. Other than that he behaves well and doesn't run around a lot
so if there were snakes back off the beaten trails we didn't really get
close to them.
