Cliff,
I've fished that section the past two weekends (10/2 & 10/10).
There are a ton of October Caddis & Stonefly schucks on the rocks. The stoneflies look
like they hatched a while back, maybe early September. The caddis must be hatching
real late in the evening. Both days I fished until 7:00 and saw just a few taking
flight. The bite seemed to really die off at around 6:00. Maybe I should have fished
until it was completely dark. Most of my larger fish have been taken on October Caddis
patterns (Orange stimulators), although yesterday I found a nice pod of fish rising to
mayflies. A size 18 Blue Wing Olive or size 16 Light Cahill sparkle duns did the
trick.
I found out one thing for sure yesterday, my eyesite with those little flies sure
isn't what it used to be.
I hope this helps.
