Two of us fished the Methow tuesday and wednesday and found the fishing to be pretty good. We fished from 9am to sundown tuesday and 9:30 to 5pm wednesday. The fish are spread throughout the river to Twisp, according to a checker we met wednesday morning.

I fished dries for the most part and caught three, mostly in the morning. I hitched and waked a #6 standard Muddler for two fish and a #4 gray Turks Tarantula for the other. I also missed one on a #4 Waller Bee at sundown. For mid-day, I switched to wets, using my low-water #4 Freight Train Spey. I fished my Scott 11'9" 6wt two-hander and my partner, Ryan Petzold fished his CND 1307. We both used floating lines and swung flies. I ended up with nine fish on with five to hand. Ryan did even better than I and lost a hot wild steelhead that ran upriver into his backing and wrapped on a rock on the way back down.

I'd say that if you're Jonesin' for steelhead, you want to be on the Met.

Leland.
