The Raging is a tough river to fish with a fly.  A lot of pocket water, fast, few stretches were fish hold.   Unless you can get down QUICK, you won't find much success.  Gear boys do well at times but you have to hit the river just right.  The Raging fills and drains like a bath tub.  I've heard it's the biggest elevation drop river (for it's length) in Wash.  Not sure if that's true or not, but it would explain it's name.  

As for access, most is between Fall City and Preston.  Above the I-90 bridge you can do some hiking, but access is somewhat limited.  A lot of houses on the river (I used to live on the river toward the very end of the road).  While most homeowners don't mind you wading past their place, some get ornery.  Since the river is not navigatable, wading in front of someone's house is 'technically' illegal if they post no-trespassing.  Some folks don't want you in front of their places and will confront you.

Hey Gary.

I've fished the Raging for bows a couple times with moderate success just upstream of Fall City.  Do you fish it on the Fall City road stretch or off Highway 18?  I've been curious about the upper river but have never taken the time to figure out if there is access up there toward Tiger Mtn.

What I find so puzzling is that everyone who complained about this post didn�t take into consideration that it was a mistake and just IGNORE it. It always amazes me that people on mailing lists and BBS�s will respond so harshly to something like this and not take into account that it just makes them look bad! The gaff here is not that Bob mistakenly sent his message to the list but all the people griping about it. You should all be ashamed! You gripe about a post not being about fishing (and this one won�t be either) but you continue to keep the thread alive by adding to it. If the moderator/owner of the list says something fine. Everyone else (including me I suppose) should just let it slide and ignore it.



Now on to something fishy� The Raging River had dropped and was looking very fishable this morning. Wish I had time to hit the Snoqualmie this morning before work!
