As I approached Nunnally/Lenice/Merry yesterday, I made a bold decision to
fish Nunnally, rather than Lenice. We got on the water around 9:00. Tried
various spots on the West side of the lake: shallow flats, trenches,
dropoffs, depths of 20-25'. Tried various flies: bloodworms, chromies,
leeches, immature damsel nymphs, and dragon nymphs. Hooked and landed on
skinny, beat up, 17" bow. Besides that, the whole lake seemed to be dead.
No fish surfacing and none to be seen in the shallows.

As we left Nunnally, three guys arrived to fish the evening. THey said that
fishing was spectacular at Lenice, and that everyone landed 15-20 fish over
there.

Well Hell. I'm nostalgic for two falls ago when the shallows of Nunnally
were full of fish. I had some great fall days back then.
