Hit the snoqualmie river this morning around 7 am. Parked near the Tolt
river bridge and walked down to the snoqualmie. I was trying out the new
spey rod, and my friend was fishing his 8 wt. Today I saw 2 gear guys and
about 7 fly rodders. Kinda neat to see.

The tolt river was kickin out a lot of mud, and turning half the river into
a muddy mess. We tied on some pink flies and started swinging. Despite the
off color we both landed one chum a piece and hooked into a handful of
others. They weren't too dark, but definetly were in spawning colors.

I now know why some guys wear/reccomend eye protection... when those flies
come loose from the fish, they can come shootin back at you real quick.

First time out fishing with the new rod and I was lucky enough to break it
in with some fish. Woo hoo!
