I fished the upper river near Boggan's for a month and in that time I only saw half a dozen guys fishing indicators. The swing is alive and well.
Indicators do very well on systems like the Rogue and Trinity where fish are feeding but even on those systems as many fish are caught swinging as nymphing. I just pick different water to fish. That said float guys on the Ronde do very well which tells you an indicator would do well also.
