Well, actually at Rocky Ford this time of year, there is the deadly rattletick which lies in wait on iced-over muskrat holes. Whenever it detects the nearby presence of neoprene, it springs towards its victim, sinking scimitar-shaped, needle-like, poison-filled (trying for a record number of hypenated descriptions) two-inch long darts directly through waders and into slightly chilled human flesh. Instantaneously, the victim writhes in pain, then slumps inert but still conscious, whereupon the victim's buddy steps forward and says, "Told you to watch out."
