Thank you Jim for not expressing my numbers, which one
could only describe as dismal.  I, too, blame missed
hookups on the skwala dry - I've never seen so many
close refusals on a single fly.  It was like every
fish wanted it until it saw it close.  Jim's theory
was that this particular fly had legs too long -
sounds as good as any.

I did see this one kid (22?) catch a big RB while
nymphing with a 6x tippet (go figure).  He was so
excited when he caught it!  As he netted it he
exclaimed "Man that must be 20 inches!"  And then
"Okay, 19!"  By the time he brought it over to Jim for
a look see I think it was down to 15 or 16" -- it must
suffer from some kind of spontaneous shrinkage. 
Still, it was a nice fish with a fat tail from what I
saw.

Anyway, the weather was great and my first float down
the Yakima was a treat indeed.  Jim Speaker is a great
informal guide and an all-around cool guy!
