I don’t know about “good” vs. cheap. I wear prescription glasses. I have been using polarized lenses that I got from the optometrist.

The lenses are High Index plastic. The HD plastic allows him to make lenses for me that are thinner than he could from standard plastic. Picture half a coke bottle bottom rather than the full thickness.

I find it difficult to fish without them. I see better when wading. I can spot fish. And the funny thing is that I can follow my strike indicator easier. I have amber lenses and I use the neon pink strike indicators. The amber lens makes the pink appear very bright. In fact I have started tying pink posts on many of my flies so that I can follow them better on the water.

So maybe any pair of polarized glasses is better than plain old eyes. But for me, amber is the color of choice.

Does it pay to spend for a "good" pair of polariod sunglasses, or is the result (seeing fish in the water) the same regardless of price?  Thanks for any insights.
