Headed over again to the yak on Saturday. Was on the river by 10 and pretty
much stayed in the same 30 feet of river all day long. The fish were rising
when I hit the river peaked around 12:30 and went quiet around 3:30 and then
started rising again around 4:30. It felt like the fish were changing what
they were keying in on as I was fishing them. I'd tie something on, catch a
couple of fish in a row and then would go fishless for 20 minutes. I'd
change flies till I started catching fish, then I'd go fishless for 20
minutes.

A couple of fly id questions:

1. I seemed to see two flies hatching on Saturday.
        a. One was very big (not skwala) dark colored maybe size 12ish or
so, was this a march brown? I didn't see very many.
        b. The other was grey size 14 - 16 also had upright wings, guessing
that this is a baeits, this is short for callibaetis? Would a appropriate
fly for this would be an adams? What other patterns could I get from a
store? I saw a lot of these guys.
        c. Blue Wing Olive is also a callibaetis, but bwo flies are usually
green/olive not grey. On the yak I feel like I'm often fishing a size 18,
are these different than the flies in question b?

Anyways, more things to learn ...
