I don't have a 9'6 Legend Ultra, but I do have some 9'0 models. A 6 weight and a 7 weight. I first cast one a couple years ago. It was a 7weight, 9'0 and I found it cast very well. I got one and have been using it for salt water fishing and thinks its a great value and a good fishing tool. That's why I got the 6 weight. Now I'm thinking about a 5 weight, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend one. I also fish Sage rods, and these St Croix are very similar casting to my RPLx.
