Just start walking the state, blm, and bureau of reclamation lands in the
basin.  There are tons of warm water ponds virtually everywhere.  The
trick is walking.

I use to fish a couple, but now they are overgrown with milfoil in many
cases.  Also the bass anglers are very efficient at harvest, so most of
the ponds as soon as the fish get to decent size get fished out quickly.

Unfortunately, bass fishing overlaped with trout and bird hunting in the
fall and something had to go....maybe in a couple of years when I have
more time!!

Be careful wandering around in the basin....its not your fathers eastern
Washington anymore.  Lots of car clouting and generally ugly behavior
going on in many of the isolated locations.

Good luck....somewhere out there are several ponds that must have
large bass in them.

Forgot to mention that I'm looking for smaller, float-tube doable lakes...
