Some bugs have been fixed. Missing features were filled in.
To install WAL-E v0.7a2, run:
$ pip install https://github.com/wal-e/wal-e/archive/v0.7a2.tar.gz
This should work fine inside a virtualenv, or, if run as root, is
expected to work installing to the primary system directories.
An installation can be confirmed by checking:
$ wal-e version
0.7a2
Here is an overview of the changes:
* logging has been made more robust, previously, modules imported by
the system could cause WAL-E's logs to be suppressed, and did so on
some platforms.
* Swift 'delete before' has had a crash fix applied
* Swift uses streaming uploads and downloads now
* Swift has nicer logging when dealing with non-extant keys
* Swift supports setting the "endpoint type"
* 'delete retain' no longer crashes when there are no base backups
* Documentation adjustments
