Hello As a member of NAB customer trial group I received this email. Their support officer told me that there had been very little interest shown by MAC users.
Thank you for registering to participate in the trial and evaluation of the National's NEW Internet banking service. National Internet Banking is currently undergoing a transformation and the new service will be trialed by our valued customers from 2 October 2001 through to official launch in November 2001. *********************************************************** The NEW National Internet Banking service *********************************************************** The new National Internet Banking* service is designed to offer greater freedom by enabling you to bank online - when and where you want. You can access the service from your home or your office, and from most personal computers** linked to the Internet anywhere in the world. *********************************************************** How to register for the NEW National Internet Banking service *********************************************************** To successfully register for the new service, you need: > An acceptable National Transaction Account including, Business Cheque Account, Business Management Account, FlexiAccount, FlexiDirect, FlexiPlus Mortgage etc. > A National Identification Number (ie. Telephone Banking Identification Number) and a Telephone Banking Password. To register for the new service, you must read and accept the new National Internet Banking TERMS & CONDITIONS. In the event that you do not accept the new National Internet Banking Terms & Conditions, which appear online during registration, you will be unable to participate in the trial and evaluation process. *********************************************************** Important instructions for EXISTING National Internet Banking Users *********************************************************** Please carefully follow the instructions below. > If you have any FUTURE DATED or REGULAR PAYMENTS set-up on the existing National Internet Banking service, you will need to delete them prior to registering for the new service. We strongly recommend you print and/or record the payment details prior to deletion, this will help you recreate those payments on the new service. > Please click on the following link to return to the existing National Internet Banking service to record and delete your payments before proceeding with registration. http://www.national.com.au/Internet_Banking/0,,153,00.html > To delete any FUTURE DATED or REGULAR PAYMENTS, simply click on PAYMENTS/TRANSFERS then, highlight and delete each future dated or regular payment where the status is ACTIVE or PENDING. > After registering for the new service, we recommend you recreate the deleted PAYMENTS/TRANSFERS as soon as possible. > If you have PERSONAL PAYEE and/or PERSONAL BILLER lists established in the existing service you do not have to delete these, however, you will need to re-enter these details in the new National Internet Banking service, as they will not be automatically transferred. > Please be aware that the existing National Internet Banking service will be discontinued after March 2002. *********************************************************** Accessing the NEW National Internet Banking service *********************************************************** During the trial and evaluation period, access to the National's new Internet banking service will be via http://www.national.com.au/Internet_Banking_Pilot/IB_Pilot.html from 2 October 2001 to completion of the trial in November 2001. To register for the trial and evaluation of the National's new Internet banking service, please select the NEW USER option. Once registered, please use the REGULAR USER LOGON. We request that this URL not be provided to any other party, without the express PERMISSION of the National in order to maintain the integrity of the trial and evaluation process. *********************************************************** Security *********************************************************** The new service utilises robust 128-bit SSL encryption to help secure your information. This is the current security standard used by most Australian banks providing Internet banking services. However, there are a number of SECURITY PRECAUTIONS that should be observed when using any secure Internet site. It is particularly important to understand how to verify the secure National Internet Banking site and it is ESSENTIAL that you maintain current virus software and of course, keep your password secure. These important security precautions, among others, are documented on the National Internet Banking trial and evaluation home page under SECURITY or via http://www.national.com.au/Internet_Banking_Pilot/0,,1621,00.html *********************************************************** Performance *********************************************************** The new National Internet Banking service is HTML based and consequently, the performance may not always be as fast as the existing JAVA TM*** Applet based service. The performance of National Internet Banking will be partially reliant on your Internet Service Provider (ISP) and your computer. The National's new Internet banking service reflects the performance characteristics of other web sites. *********************************************************** Known issues *********************************************************** The National's new Internet banking service is under development during the trial and evaluation period, and therefore some minor issues may affect your National Internet Banking experience. A list of known issues can be viewed from the National Internet Banking trial and evaluation home page under SUPPORT/TROUBLESHOOTING or via http://www.national.com.au/Internet_Banking_Pilot/0,,1847,00.html Apple Macintosh users are recommended to select a screen resolution setting of 1024 x 768 for the duration of the trial and evaluation period. *********************************************************** We want to hear from you *********************************************************** Select MESSAGES in the new National Internet Banking service to provide your valuable feedback. Please ensure you select INTERNET BANKING PILOT FEEDBACK in the SUBJECT field of your message. *********************************************************** We are here to help *********************************************************** If you have any queries regarding the trial, please contact the National Internet Banking Trial Hotline, 7 days a week, 8am to midnight (EST) on 1800 724 638 or via e-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] *********************************************************** Conclusion of trial *********************************************************** At conclusion of the trial in November 2001, the National's new Internet banking service will become available from the National's home page at national.com.au in the same way as the existing National Internet Banking service. All other National Internet Banking customers will be invited to transfer to the new service from this time.
