Hi Brian, Under Mac OS X 10.1 you cannot view DVD's on an external TV. I looked it up last night and it's just not supported yet. Under Mac OS 9, simply do the following:
Connect up your TV to the PowerBook. Turn video mirroring ON. Change the video resolution to something like 800x600 or 640x480 and make sure you see it on the TV. Then, plug in a USB mouse, and close the lid of your PowerBook. Wait a sec, and then click the mouse button (don't open up the PowerBook). The TV should come on, and you can play your DVD's.
