I have set up Web Sharing on a machine so it is visible in the LAN
and beyond (thanks to IPNetRouter and MacDynDNS.)
I want to have a secure area (user/password.)
If I change Web Sharing from the default of "Give everyone read-only
permission" to "Use File Sharing" and create a new user (to log in
with) and a new folder (set to be shared by this user) it works fine
with one exception : to even view the root level page (public) you
still get a log in dialog. How do I get around this (I just want the
dialog to appear when you try to access the secure stuff.)
Web Root
index.html (public)
SecureFolder
index.html (private)
Anyone see what I've done wrong here / what I can do to fix it?
