Dear DiskWarrior owner, Recently Shawn King of "Your Mac Life" <http://www.yourmaclife.com> conducted an online interview regarding DiskWarrior with Al Whipple, CEO of Alsoft <http://www.alsoft.com>. This interview is a rare opportunity to hear Al Whipple answer questions about disk damage in simple terms. If this interests you, please read on. Al Whipple answered questions such as: * what does DiskWarrior do? * what is a directory? * how does a directory become corrupt? * how do crashes contribute to directory corruption? * how often should one run DiskWarrior? * what are the symptoms of directory corruption? * should one run DiskWarrior even if no problems have been noticed? * why do Macs sometimes run noticeably faster after repairing with DiskWarrior? * can ancient Macs be repaired with DiskWarrior? * can modern disks be repaired with DiskWarrior, eg FireWire and USB disks? * what news is there about a version of DiskWarrior for Mac OS X? * is a Mac OS X version of DiskWarrior needed or is DiskWarrior 2.1 adequate? * can DiskWarrior be used with multiple Macs? * when will the Ask Al forum be back online to answer customer questions about disks and fonts? (Al stopped answering questions in June 2001 when a flood in Texas swamped the offices of Alsoft.) The audio interview was recorded in QuickTime format and can be found at <http://www.yourmaclife.com/subpages/qt/alsoft.mov>. The QuickTime file is 2.6 MB in size. Please let us know if you have any questions regarding DiskWarrior or disk damage. -- Regards, Luke Maslen Software Support [EMAIL PROTECTED] __________________________________________________________________________ PICA Software Pty Ltd ACN 053 857 275 22 Aintree Street Phone: +61 3 9388-9588 Brunswick VIC 3056 Australia Fax: +61 3 9388-9788 Email addresses: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] World Wide Web: http://www.pica.com.au __________________________________________________________________________ ------ End of Forwarded Message
