Also is anyone else on the list being buried in Spam lately?. Of particular
annoyance is truckloads of Casino and gambling email that comes daily
without ever subscribing to any of it. It is so bad that I am considering
changing by email address which would be a drag. Interested to hear if
anyone else is suffering this invasion.
I haven't noticed any particular recent increase, but it is pretty
much always bad.
You can use Eudora's filters to get rid of a fair amount of it (perhaps half?).
If a particular one is annoying you, you could always get violent and
filter any message containing the word casino or gambling or whatever
off to the trash...
One trick is to check your mail once in the morning and then go
through each spam message and see if there is an easy way it could
have been identified generically as spam, and then make a new filter
for that. A couple that I just added where:
Subject contains I Thought You Would Like To Know
Subject contains Banks Compete
Body contains Growth Stock Alert
Body contains AmazingOfferings
Anywhere (Body or Headers) contains Mortgage Rate
Also, what I do is colour them and transfer them to the spam folder
where I can scan them all quickly looking for any message that might
not be spam - just in case someone actually sends me a message about
Mortgage Rates! ;-)
