Dear WAMUGgers
I have had a query from a school community member who wants to
purchase a new iMac Graphite G3 and use Telstra satellite internet.
He cannot get ADSL as apparently his line uses 'pair gain' and cannot
support broadbanding. This is nteresting as his exchange at Nabawa
provides OnRamp2 services to my school and later this year we will be
getting DOE (Ed Dept) Telstra broadbanding through it.
Telstra has told him he cannot get satellite input to a Mac and must
use a windoze beastie.
Is this correct? Surely there must be a way of keeping him on the right side?
Can anybody help with tech advice and/or good Telstra/other contacts
to resolve this issue.
Regards
Reg
