I have also seen DiskWarrior corrupt the Privileges in OS X if you do
not boot back into OS 9 immediately after running DiskWarrior. If you
run DiskWarrior, startup after running DW in OS 8/9 and then restart in
OS X.
Once you have updated to 10.1.5 you might also run the Apple Prefs Fixer.
Otherwise reinstall OS 9.2.2 but the advice you have already received
should fix the problem.
I can only suggest a few simple steps to begin with but they are
probably
worth trying.
First, upgrade to at least 10.1.4 if not 10.1.5. There are lots of bug
fixes and classic enhancements (in stability) in these upgrades.
Second, upgrade Classic to 9.2.2 for the same reasons.
Third, after a few Classic crashes or freezes (my more common problem)
it
pays to boot into Classic to let it perform some housekeeping that it
doesn't do when launched under OS X.
Fourth, if these fail it might be worth a clean install of your
favourite
flavour of OS 9 and try again.

I am making an effort to stop being a Luddite and get used to the new
technology but it is fraught with problems.
Every time I try to start Classic I get a bus error which tells me to
start again with extensions off. It does not work with the shift key
but will start up with extensions off from the Classic panel.
In desperation I swapped back to System OS 9.2.1 and used it without
problem yesterday but today when I swapped back to OS X.1.2, Classic
still crashes.
In order to use OS X I installed Eudora 5.1.1 for OS X and Mozilla X
1.1a. I also installed the Software Updater update (before I did the
updates it wanted to do so it seems I have made another mistake). I
presume these would not have changed the OS 9 System Folder. It
appeared to work OK on Sunday after I had done all of this. I had
Classic set to start up automatically because I use it so much, I
have turned this off but it makes no difference.
I am fed up as I am achieving nothing and spending all my time trying
to make the rotten machine work! The help file is not too helpful.
Any suggestions please?
