Maybe I've got the wrong end of the stick with Rendezvous, but it was not exactly zero configuation. The Win2000 server is not serving DHCP, so I had to set up a new location in the Network Preferences and assign
a manual IP.
Whilst Windows boxes assign their own IP numbers in the 169.254 address space when lacking any other info (as do Macs since Mac OS 8.5), Windows 2000 doesn't support Rendezvous. (Then again from some experiments last night, neither does Mac OS X yet :)
