Hi All! I am hoping the Filemaker wizzes on the list may be able to shed some light. I have a client that has installed Filemaker Server 5.5 on their Windows 2000 server. After much fiddling around, we managed to get Filemaker to recognise Shortcuts to the filemaker data held on a different drive. Unfortunately Filemaker Server will not automatically recognise the data files when placed in the FM Server folder. You have to manually drag the files onto the FM Server icon to get them started. We need them to start automatically, as the data drive is backed up every night, so the FM Server has to be shut down (separate from FM Servers own backup system).
I have even tried this with the original files in the FM server folder and have had no luck. Any ideas what might be going wrong? >From memory it is a HP server of some description, running Windows 2000. The filemaker data is being served to 3 Macs running 9.2.2 and one PC also running Windows 2000. Seeya Rod.
