I've done this a couple times with complete systems and monitors that are dead. I've got a 486 system sitting in my room right now that I have no practical use for. It's got a 500 meg hard drive and a Creative CD-Rom in it and I think the case is actually AT. I wouldn't even attempt a Smoothwall install on it simply because of the age of the machine and the Creative CD drive. I'd love to put a few hundred rounds through this thing. Too bad it's almost next to impossible to do here in the land down under :(.
I'm expecting to be sledgehammering a LaserWriter in the not too distant future. Much more rewarding, and sledgehammers are much easier to come by :)
