I'm thinking of getting a external CD-RW for my poor slow Imac 233 rev A.
Lacie models was one ,Will it work on my iMac as i notice it has USB
version 2.0 - is it irrelevant?
Yes.
USB 2 devices are backwards compatible with USB 1
And there is no USB 2 support in any Mac (or the Mac OS) at the
moment, so you wouldn't get any extra speed out of it regardless of
which Mac you plug it into . Of course this may change next year :)
