Recently, my 21" Apple multi-scan has started doing weird stuff:
boots OK first thing in the morning, then starts to flash blue,
orange, then black for a while, then hiccups a few times and comes
good after about three minutes, with a ripple effect of pale grey
'waves' running down the screen ... then settles back to pretty
normal after 5-10 min. This state can last from half an hour to most
of the day, before it goes through all that stuff again.
I have hung the monitor off another mac, with the same result, so the
fault is evidently in the monitor, and not a video card problem.
Is my monitor dying, or what? Anyone had similar experience - and
what was the outcome?
The monitor is about 10 years old, so I can't complain, but would
like to know what my next move is likely to be.
