OK, this may be a silly question, but... An external firewire disc with two firewire ports, 2 computers both with firewire. I know I can connect the disc to either computer, network the computers by ethernet and share the disc over the network. But I was wondering....can I connect both computers to the disc by firewire, at the same time, and use it as external storage for both devices.
On a different front: The external disc is 120GB and I'm thinking of using it for backup for both computers. If I want to be able to boot either computer from the remote disc in either OS9 or OSX, how do I set up the disc - is it best to set up different partitions for each OS - do I need different system set-ups for each computer (ie 4 in total) or can I just set up one OS9 system and one OSX system that will boot either computer (obviously not both simultaneously) Computers are: 400MHz G4 Ti powerbook 800Mhz G4 15" iMac TIA Neil -- Neil R.
