Machine A : OS 9.1 (no firewire) Machine B : OS X 10.2.4 + External FireWire Drive
Machine A was up the creek and needed some data copied off before it was wiped an reinstalled.
I copied about 6Gb of data in less than an hour via the 100 base ethernet network to the FireWire drive.
Machine A has be reformatted and reinstalled so its time for the data to go back.
Connecting either way (A to B or B to A) indicates a copy time of around 8-9 hours (even after waiting a while) - the transfer rate is a fraction of the original.
What is the cause of this? (Connect via TCP/IP is enabaled as I believe it was on the old install.)
