Had a pleasant surprise yesterday. Recently I had roll of film
developed out of my old steam-driven SLR, and opted to get the photos
on a CD as well. To my surprise, when I put the CD into my Mac, iPhoto
automatically opened and offered to import the photos. Pretty
impressive, I thought.
Funny thing is, any an all recognisable documentation on the CD is in
any language than English. I found one file which I think was in
Portuguese, and another more impressive one which was in German. AFter
subjecting this to the Translation Service in Sherlock, I found that
all references to MacOS X were most insistent that it would be
necessary to reboot in MacOS 9 to get efficient use from the CD. No
mention of iPhoto at all.
Worth a try for your next roll of film, though. It'll do until such
time as Apple ever gets around to sorting out something in Oz with
iPhoto and Kodak.
