15" Flat panel 800MHz G4 iMac with superdrive (update 1.0 installed) running OSX 10.2.8 & OS 9.2.2
I've been through what seem to be the relevant Apple knowledge base articles and, as I read it, the superdrive IS compatable with DVD-RW media but Apple's burning software isn't. So I SHOULD be able to use these discs but I would need to purchase third party burning software like toast. Can anyone confirm this and give any positive or negative feedback on using these discs with this computer. Down here in Albany brand name DVD-Rs seem to go for $5+, or $23 for a TDK 5-pack, whereas I saw DVD-RWs (imation I think) for <$9. So I'm thinking that for back-ups DVD-RW could be very cost effective. I see DVD-Rs advertised for as low as $1 in the west but no mention of brand so I am nervous about the compatability/reliability of these. I would be very interested to hear other users thoughts/experiences. TIA Neil -- Neil R. Houghton Albany, Western Australia Tel: +61 8 9841 6063 Fax: +61 8 9841 6137 Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
