Howdy,
From my experience resolution as in dpi will produce a certain size file,
But the sane resolution will produce an increased file size if there is more
colour content eg 1000's of colours versus 100's of colours.

What Eddy has written of is attaching a file size of 100Kb which when
encoded onto the email blows out to 300Kb.

I have seen a similar thing happen. A normal Camera jpg file attached to an
email produces a similar size encoded mail.
However when I have manipulated a file to turn photo upright or have altered
its colour etc in say Photoshop the same file grows substantially when
encoded.

I am using OS9.1 which keeps the Mac Creator codes etc, on the resource
fork. I am guessing that a lot of the altered info is also on the resource
fork and as this is usually sent with the file it is this that causes the
encoded file to blow out in size.

I said " guess "

Eddy might want to check out the Camera files and see if he can download
them directly as Jpeg files to the Mac.
In my case with a Sony I do not need an application to download them, just
copy straight to Mac Hard Drive.

Have fun

Bob
