No, but thanks for the tip - disconnected everything from everything but to no avail

Nothing, Nada, Zilch - the machine doesn't appear to power-up - just the power light for a couple of seconds then nothing...

You could try reset the CODA chip on the logic board. Remove the battery and power cord, wait for 10-15 minutes and then press the little red button (should be close to where the battery was. That hopefully will solve you problem.
