Yup, that's right people.... tonight, I am totally disgusted and hang my head in shame. I've just witnessed something incredibly clever, and can't believe I didn't think of it years ago myself.
I'm quite a fan of stand-up comedy, and go to various local shows regularly. At the moment there is a national competition called RAW Comedy 2004. There are heats in each state, and each state winner goes to Melbourne for the national grand final in a couple of months. Well, at tonight's heat here in Perth, someone had written a comedy routine, and they set up an old Mac Classic on stage that read it out! It was quite funny... imagine, a Mac reading out a comedy routine in that classic early 1990s Macintosh voice. I'm miffed.... after owning Macs for over 10 years, I can't believe that I didn't think of that ages ago! Heck, a lady friend of mine are always swapping smart arse remarks in Macintosh voices. So yeah... there was this little Mac Classic, on stage...on a bar stool...with the microphone in front of it... doing a comedy routine, and talking about his new girlfriend (a microwave on a nearby table, that went ding halfway through the performance). Amazingly, the Mac won tonight's heat! This means that it will be in the semi final, which is in a few weeks. I'll find out exactly which of the two semis that it will be in, and let the list know. Oh yeah, I'll be performing myself on February 5, using some of the stuff that I have on my http://www.perthcomedy.com web site. I'll be doing a practice run on the next two Wednesday nights at the Brass Monkey pub in Northbridge.
