It'd be nice to see the same compression & playback done on a Mac to see if the platform affects the quicktime performance. It wouldn't surprise me to see improvements as quicktime leans on OS X for assistance.
Those results aren't pretty though. Mm. T. P.S. Bart, I've also been looking at conversion software between windows media and quicktime for a mate ... I think a commercial solution is Cleaner Pro, but it's primarily used for streaming video, and hasn't been updated in a while apparently, so I'm not sure what OSX support is like. Speaking of commercial solutions, anyone know if Final Cut pro or FC Express compress wmv? What about Adobe Premiere (on PC)? > ---------- > From: Rob Findlay > Sent: Friday, 12 March 2004 1:50 PM > To: WAMUG Mailing List > Subject: Re: convert wmv to quicktime(how) > > Maybe you should read this first.
