Many fans will say that Apple's Netwon was ahead of its time. In comparison, the iPod has been a runaway success. As a result, Apple is perhaps the only UNIX vendor whose technical manuals contain illustrations about how to establish a rack-mount server farm using your handheld stereo ;-)
