a number of people asked me what camera's I short listed
Now I'm no expert and don't know jack about the new generation of
digital camera so I'm simply going on recommendations from others and
the official spin.
Firstly anything over $600'ish had to be rejected because every $100
I spend on gadgets and cool things (obilg "www.MegaTokyo.com
reference) is one day less I can stay in Japan/China. - like a
certain $3000+ databack for Nikon f4 that got mentioned - (and while
I'll admit that I have ready access to loan an F4 (and even indeed
loan of a 'blad) I don't think they'll let me take it overseas for a
month)
Canon A80/A75 Preferably the A80 as it has the following over the A75 :
- An extra megapixle to take it to 4Mp
- Variable angle LCD
- Driverless PTP (picture transfer protocol) protocol which would
make using it in an internet cafe painless.)
- Also has wide angle and short telephoto adaptor (yes I know these
are inferior to dedicated wide angle/telephoto lenses but better than
a poke in the eye with a sharp stick)
Sony DSCP Cybershot - while not overly packed with features is cheap,
small, "stylish" and currently comes with extra batteries and memory
Fujifilm S5000, going by stats sound impressive but I'm left
wondering what gets lost on the roundabouts that make up for the
things gained on the swings?
