My new 12" iBook G4 1GHz has the following modem:
Driver: MotorolaSM56K.kext (v1.0.4)
Hardware Version: Version 1.0
Interface Type: I2S
Country: 9 (Australia)
Modem Model: Jump
Modulation: V.92
After booting up the iBook, waiting about 3 minutes or so, and then
connecting to BigPond I invariably only get a connection at about
31,200 bps (i.e. 95% of the time).
When I hang up and redial I always get a connection at around 54667 bps.
Anyone got any ideas why this might be happening?
I can't recall it ever happening with the modem on my former 14" iBook
G3 700MHz.
