The eMac line is well behind the performance curve - less than half the CPU power of a mid-range new PC or G5, not enough memory, a slow hard disk, and a very limited 3D card. They're just not gaming machines or workstations, but budget machines. IMHO this problem isn't so much with macs in general as with the fact that Apple's low end hardware is very low end indeed, and even their high end gear doesn't come with particularly good video cards or all that much RAM. Most people don't upgrade them, either. A mid-range two-year-old PC wouldn't run Halo or UT2k4 either. (Note: I question the use of "run" when referring to Halo on the PC, preferring "stagger" even on high-end machines). A top end one would've needed a serious video card and "excessive" RAM for the time to cope, unless it'd been upgraded since. It'd cost almost as much as a mac! - *grin* :-P Craig Ringer
