Maybe the clocks are running fast in Cupertino?
Apple seem to be making a habit of releasing security patches on
Mondays, which is probably why it's got the Monday date. I'd gather
they deemed it important enough to actually release it on Friday :)
As to its kosherness, Software Update checks Apple authorised
servers, and since a previous security exploit about spoofing
software updates was fixed all software updates are digitally signed,
so to post a fake update someone would have to infiltrate Apple's
server systems and find the key to sign their own bogus package
appropriately.
It does appear in my Software Update under 10.3.3
Have fun,
Shay ("It's already tomorrow in Australia")
