Big problem though with the desktop! Since the battery died, the desktop image has shrunk to the size of a barrel shaped 512k Mac. Does anyone know of a remedy for this problem?

Thanks to those who responded to the battery question. The price
seems to be around $35-39 when available. I have ganged up three
alkaline AAA batteries and it seems to be OK.
