SOFTWARE TO BURN

Hullo all

I am looking for software that will allow me to burn DVD's in sessions 
for back ups.

ie.  Rather than have to burn to a new DVD each time be able to burn 
new back up files to the same DVD in separate sessions.

This is common in the PC world but not possible with my mac

Does anyone out there know if this is true and if not what software 
will allow you to do this.
