Hi Everyone
Many thanks to those who offered suggestions for this problem I have
with hotsyncing my T3 with the powerbook. After much ringing around and
trying out various suggestions I seemed to have come to no-go but with
a situation I dont understand.
I have two powerbooks, both 15" with 10.3.3 and Palm desktop 4
installed. One works (PB1), and the other does not (PB2)!!
There is one major difference when in the Hotsync setup software on
each machine and defining the connectin settings.
On PB1 I am presented with a screen that has the selection of the
connections including the "bluetooth pda sync port" with associated
port icon. On PB2 it shows "bluetooth pda sync" modem with icon, not
the port icon. I then highlight each and click on 'settings'.
On PB1 there is a pull down menu asking to select serial or modem. The
serial selection has various speeds to choose from. The modem selection
has a long list of modems.
On PB2 there is NO pull down menu, only a list of modems to choose
from? No serial port and speed choice? So I cant select a serial
bluetooth port for the sync process.
There is the bluetooth serial utility which enables a port to be
defined. I did this, and the pull down menu and choice became
available. But still there is no synching. Within the utility I can
click on the port already defined and a message appears saying I cant
edit it because it is in use. With what? I have no other devices
attached.
Is there some way of checking all ports to see what is applied to this
port? Im completely confused now.
kind regards and many thanks
chris
