My main problem is not being able to get the headset microphone to
work -

Smith's or somewhere - Verbatim. Happy to hear from anyone regarding
tips as
to why this might not be working. I've been to Sound panel and changed
device from Internal Microphone to Line In, but still doesn't seem to
have
made a difference.
On most Mac's (PB a definite candidate), the "line in" has no amplifier
this means you need to be using a source that is amplified, makes noise
without the computer in most circumstances?
