I manage to run it ok on a G4-400 tower with only 384 Mb of RAM. It's
sometimes a little choppy in big battles (not too bad though) and it's
certainly playable and fun.
Of course I have all the graphics settings turned down to their minimum
level. I'm not sure what level of graphics your son would be able to
run the game at without compromising game play but it'll certainly run
fine on the low quality settings.
