The Torrent version downloads the file very fast using the BitTorrent
system.  To access this on the Mac, you need to download a BitTorrent client
for the Mac, for example Tomato Torrent:

And then click and open the torrent link on the video download page

And yes, although BitTorrent is used to download video of TV episodes or
movies etc, it is also used for legitimate uses such as distributing linux
binaries, and this example.  For the providers of the content, they don't
have to pay for bandwidth as the cost is spread over all the Torrent users.
 
It is nice to see a legitimate use of these peer-to-peer technologies.
