Comment appreciated Merv --"Science teaches that we must see in order to believe, but we must also believe in order to see."
A search on the Telstra pages shows that at my address there is an
exchange that can handle ADSL but my street cabling cannot.
They offer ISDN as an alternative (I have not checked yet as to
whether that is available).
My main reason for wanting ADSL or ISDN is to allow access by
phone/fax and to the net simultaneously. Currently when I am on the
net we use Telstra Home Message 101 service for incoming calls, if
the caller wishes to leave a message. The problem occurs when one is
on the net and another family member wishes to make that very urgent
important call!!
I understand that I will get no speed advantage from ISDN because the
two lines will be dedicated one to the net the other to the phone.
Is anyone using ISDN and is it working for you? What issues arise?
Should I stay with the 101 service until the street has new cables?
