List members might be interested in a two page article in The Australian's "IT Alive" section today. (Tuesday) It compares Plasma, LCD and Cathode ray tube (CRT) screens. There is a brief technical description of how they work. I was surprised to learn of some of the shortcomings of Plasma and LCD, especially their relatively short half-life at optimum performance. Those cut-price demo models in the stores may not be a bargain. The old fashioned CRT tubes still have a few things going for them.
