Hoping I am allowed one 'off topic' :-). I had a patient aged 17 who
fallen off a mountain and broken his head. We got out the vinegar and
brown paper! He recovered but was VERY wobbly on his legs. He had
been a schoolboy international at Hockey before his fall. He was very
miserable and knowing Stirling had fought his way back from a similar
situation, I rang him in London from Newcastle --287 miles--. I got
through to his secretary who said she would get him to ring back. I
waited and waited but no telephone call :-(. 5 hours later i was
called over the hospital tannoy -- I had a visitor in the front hall of
the RVI (Royal Victoria Infirmary-Newcastle.) I went down and met
--Stirling Moss-- who on receipt of my call had climbed into his car
and driven all the way to Newcastle to talk with the boy. He spent over
an hour with the totally astonished boy and then drove back to London.
I am one of his Fan Club.He ranks with Fangio,Nuvalari (?sp),Clark and
maybe Ralph should be in that group--Maybe.

Hi Robert,
Many thanks for this link. I'm of the 'vintage' who in my youth
admired Sir
Stirling Moss greatly, he was a hero. And now to find that he is
enjoying an
iBook at that! Makes me happy I influenced my daughters to buy iBooks
a few
weeks ago ....
