Used Macs since Lisa days and still own the latter. Currently G4 400, 768 Ram. A truly great machine.

Since 10.3.7 Safari takes 1 min 30secs to open CommSec and CommBank - previously 15 to 20 secs.
I have done all the recommended speed up routines to no avail.

Firefox loads above sites, log in and watchlist display in 8 seconds

Am I dreaming or is there a security issue with Firefox

The .Mail application also takes 30 to 40 seconds to simply load

I would prefer to retain all Mac software but unless someone can suggest a solution or dissuade me from Firefox I strongly recommend that the average unsophisticated user like myself get on to this Firefox wagon

TIA

Its true, Firefox loads many sites faster, not just secure ones.
Camino, faster still.
Its very easy to see this when using a slower mac: B&W G3 with 500 MHz
Sonnet chip and 448 MB RAM using OS 10.3.7

Since I went to the Drag Racing recently, its become my favorite
analogy. Read on.

Safari is like a large luxury car, all the appointments, beautiful
finish, comfortable seating etc but not too good in a sprint, nor is it
great in the twisty stuff either.

Firefox is more like say... a Subaru WRX, slightly cramped, lacking
leg-room, but boy it goes and over various terrain as well, you'll just
have to leave some luggage at home thats all.

Camino. Now here we have a real racing machine. No fun to use, one seat
only, no radio, harsh on the driver. But if you have a short distance to
cover quickly, like a session on eBay, this is the beastie.

Sadly we have found that the days of having a 'favorite' browser are in
hiatus at the moment.
If only I could 'Frankenstein' together the superior parts of each browser!

Safoxino, mmmm!

Note the absence of IE ;o)
