After my kids have played with imac ( REVa A 233 - 384 MB RAM -
1st partitions of 6MB OS 10.2.8 & 9.2.2
2nd partition of 19MB with )OS 8.6 and data files
it stalled at boot up at the blue screen ( after loading all its stuff)
disk utility said missing files or wrong order or something like that.
Start up from 8.6 and 9.2.2 are both okay.
so as suggested ran Diskwarrior, and created new system folder -
initially there were lots of folder/ files out of whack
after diskwarrior had booted in up into OS X , did a restart to see
if all okay, but it stalled at the blue screen again
did an archive and install of OS 10.2 booted okay, on restart the
blue screen again
Ran diskwarrior, and did another 10.2 archive and install
all to no avail ( and disk is full now)
Last night I moved my files over to the other partition and did a
clean install of 10.2 - great works a treat
reinstalled 9.2.1 - great works a treat
now to upgrade to 10.2.8 from a disk image - not allowed
tried 10.2.6 combo upgrade from disk image - proceeded okay- complete
stall at 4 minutes to go
restart blue - screen again
bugger
now what?
ps i also have a 10.2.3 update disk but stalled whilst running teh
installer as well.
any suggestion on cause, workaround, how to correct?
